Founded in 1999 by Brice Cutrer Jones (yup - he sold them the year before) Emeritus Vineyards has been described as "one of the Russian River’s most accomplished Pinot Noir producers". Now run by Brice's daughter Mari Jones the estate is 100% dry-farmed and the team are obsessive about bringing the highest possible quality of fruit to the winery. This is a textbook example, from the cool Green Valley location. A wonderful expression of Russian River Valley Pinot from a passionate family estate winery.
Tasting Notes: Bright cherry and raspberry lead with hints of pomegranate, orange peel and cola spice. Silky textures carry red plum, rose and beetroot, layered with subtle forest floor and baking spice. Lively acidity and fine-grained tannins frame a persistent, savory finish.
Pairings: Herbed Duck Breast, Roast Pork Loin, Wild Mushroom Risotto
Composition: 100% Pinot Noir
Acclaim: 95 Points, Wine Review Online, 93 Points, Decanter, 93 Points, Wine Enthusiast, 92 Points, Wine Spectator
