Chicken Alfredo

Description :

Chicken Alfredo is a creamy pasta dish made with fettuccine, tender chicken pieces, and a rich Alfredo sauce made from butter, heavy cream, and Parmesan cheese. This rich and decadent dish pairs best with wines that have enough acidity to cut through the creaminess of the sauce and complement the flavors of the chicken. Light to medium-bodied white wines such as Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc are excellent choices due to their crisp acidity and citrus or apple notes, which provide a refreshing contrast. For those who prefer red wine, a light-bodied Pinot Noir or a medium-bodied Barbera can also pair well, offering fruity and earthy notes that balance the dish’s richness.

Ingredients :

  • Chicken: 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
  • Pasta: 8 ounces of fettuccine
  • Sauce: 1 cup heavy cream, 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, 2 tablespoons butter
  • Seasonings: Salt, pepper, garlic powder
  • Optional Garnishes: Fresh parsley, additional Parmesan cheese

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Season the chicken strips with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add the chicken strips and cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Cook the Pasta: While the chicken is cooking, bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Make the Alfredo Sauce: In the same skillet used for the chicken, melt the remaining butter over medium heat. Add the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and cook, stirring frequently, until the sauce thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Combine and Serve: Add the cooked fettuccine and chicken back into the skillet with the Alfredo sauce. Toss to coat the pasta and chicken in the sauce. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley and additional Parmesan cheese.
  5. Wine Pairing: Pair your Chicken Alfredo with a chilled glass of Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc for a refreshing contrast. If you prefer red wine, a light Pinot Noir or a medium-bodied Barbera can add a delightful fruity and earthy depth to the dish.
